Campaign Rules
Welcome to the campaign season for TPSA Student Board! We’re excited to see our future leaders step up and represent their schools and regions In order to ensure a fair, respectful, and professional election process, all candidates MUST adhere to the following guidelines:
TPSA holds its members to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Running for Student Board is an incredible leadership opportunity—make the most of it by demonstrating respect, responsibility, and positive leadership throughout your campaign.
Campaign Tables & Materials:
Beginning Tuesday morning, there will be designated tables available for campaigning. Candidates may use these tables to display campaign materials such as trifolds, flyers, and handouts.
- Aboslutely no materials may be hung, afixed, stuck to, taped to, etc onto any wall on hotel property.
- Absolutely NO tape, glue, or adhesives of any kind may be used on hotel property. Any damage to hotel property may result in disqualification.
- All materials must be school-appropriate, free of offensive language, and represent TPSA in a positive, professional manner.
Campaign Conduct:
Candidates are expected to run positive, respectful campaigns.
- Sabotaging another candidate’s campaign will result in immediate removal from the ballot. Examples of sabotage include, but are not limited to:
- Removing or defacing another candidate’s posters or materials
- Spreading false or harmful information about another candidate
- Disrupting another candidate’s campaign table or materials
- Candidates are responsible for the actions of anyone directly helping promote their campaign.
For example: If you ask a friend to go tell people to vote for you, and that friend does something that breaks these guidelines, YOU will be held responsible.
Campaign Content:
All campaign messaging should focus on the candidate’s qualifications, leadership goals, and ideas to improve TPSA.
- Small giveaways (such as candy, stickers, or fun promotional items) are permitted. Please keep all giveaways appropriate and reasonable.
Enforcement
These policies and rules shall be enforced by the Board of Directors, Executive Council, or Student Board Coordinator. Non-compliance with the campaign rules may lead to dismissal from the election, suspension of TPSA membership, disqualification of competitive event results, or other sanctions.
